Year 12
Developing a pathway action plan
In Year 12, students reflect on their NCEA Level 1 results and set goals for Year 12 and 13.
Students consolidate their strengths, interests, skills, and values and identify career options available to them. Students need to understand academic pathways and how to achieve entrance to university and other tertiary providers.
Subject selection and the Career Expos and Roadshows are important events in the Year 12 calendar, and students need to prepare to get the most out of these opportunities.
Students looking at apprenticeships and entering the workforce need to understand the labour market, the range of options available to them and have job search and interview skills as well as a well-prepared CV. Work experience or work shadowing is recommended for students in Year 12.
